Ultimately, I love this series. The atmosphere it creates it just amazing. The main character is one you can root for, and the plot always keeps you guessing, because the main character doesn't do stuff you expect him to. The timeline of it is longer than you'd expect, so more time passes between events, which also creates interesting situations. The setting of old England is incredibly well done and believable... yeah I would say this book is pretty solid.
I still hate that king whose name escapes me. He's a jerk. Uhtred is a good man for forgiving him.

9/10 Stars. One blood feud down, half a dozen more to go. Uhtred had an incredible and harrowing journey in this novel and it was good to see some things go his way. The best part was how Uhtred dealt with Hrothweard. Only downside was the... Resolution between Uhtred and Guthred.
