4.21 AVERAGE

Yo pensaba que era el último de la serie y resulta que hay tres más. Cágate lorito. En todo caso, valió la pena.

Whilst I still absolutely loved this instalment of The Last Kingdom I do think it fell slightly short of the first two books which is why this one has come in at 4.5 rather than my predicted 5 stars.

The Lords of the North is everything that I have come to expect from this series, and while there is so much to love there is a chunk of the plot that I didn’t really care for, I don’t wan’t to go into detail here because it would be spoilers for anyone yet to read it.

What this book did better than the first two however was made me what to read book 4 immediately. Since starting this series has always been on the forefront of my TBR but ending to The Lords of the North has me desperately reaching for Sword Song.

Where we are in the story now is roughly where I stopped watching the show because I didn’t want to books ruined so I’m incredibly excited about this fact and can’t wait to keep diving back in.

It was entertaining and reasonably informative but not nearly as good as some of the earlier books in this series -- nor as good as Sharpe.

Entre 3.5 y 4 estrellas para el libro, y mil estrellas para el audiolibro.

Uhtred is one of my favourite characters ever. Historical fiction usually feels difficult to read, but Cornwell makes the story come alive. It's fast paced and easy to digest. Characters are loveable for the most part, and they're stories dance of the page.

I am really enjoying this series and can't wait to read the next one.
