This graphic novel was such a cool sci-fi concept! It felt like a mix between the movie death race and cyberpunk 2077.
Dom is a motor bike racer in a world where an illegal substance called crush gives your bike that extra kick it needs to win the race. Every racer wants it. But ingesting it will kill you immediately, so they say. But DOM finds out she isn’t quiet like everyone else and her father has been lying to her for years about who she really is.
I love DOM, the main character. She is a sassy bad as biker who doesn’t take shit from anyone, fiercely independent to a fault and just all around amazing. The rep in this was awesome. There is bipoc, disability and lgbtq+.
BUT THE CLIFF HANGER AT THE END HAD ME RUNNING TO GRAB VOLUME 2 AS FAST AS I COULD!

A thrilling introduction to this sci-fi inspired, high energy graphic novel series. I loved the art style - the neon colors really gave it a 1980s Tron meets Miami Vice aesthetic.
I also really enjoyed the main character - Domino - and the relationship building between her and the other secondary questions. I especially appreciated the way her relationship in Lola was rendered.
I can't wait to continue onward in this series!

Ngl I kinda like it. Quick fun read. Though I'm not enthralled or even wowed yet...
Great Modern Comics.
I've never been into racing or motorcycle racing. And I've only watched the first Fast and the Furious movie. But this comic right here, that is exactly Mad Max meets The Fast and the Furious, is hecking excellent.
this book is a total thrill-ride, blast from start to finish. it has a whole world set up and built from top to bottom. At first I was a little irritated, thinking that the so-called Crush that this whole world is built around really didn't have much of an explanation. however, my fears were soon allayed. there is a tender romance, a bildungsroman, and a whole sneaky sci-fi conspiracy theory. oh and there is some crime. Lots of goody gain crime. who doesn't love crime stories? I know I sure do.
read this if you like fun. There's a little bit of frustration with motivations when the character supposed to be staying low. but I guess I know people who do stupid shit all the time, so it's not completely illogical
oh, and the art is absolutely gorgeous. I took the time to snap a couple of pictures and send them to a friend. In particular, there was a double-page spread for 1 characters glorious mane of hair was flowing out for the world to see. It was wonderful, I'm in love
