I really wanted to like this...come on it has LGBT+ representation, a kickass main character...but somehow the plot wasn't for me. I'm not a fan of cars, motorbikes or racing, so the setting of the story didn't appeal to me at all. The plot just went everywhere and didn't give you any answers, just more questions and it just doesn't intrigue me enough to get the second volume.

I never thought I'd really enjoy a racing comic. Who know?!

i loved this book and the art is gorgeous but the main character did have flat ass

I loved this comic and I need more of it! A more indepth review will come soon when I get my thoughts together!

This reminded me of the issue of Batgirl with the two motorcycles villains.

I really liked the characters, but I didn't feel super invested. I wasn't the biggest fan of Burnside Batgirl and this could have fit right in there with a few curse words thrown in to "adult" it up. Even then, it was a teen read. I don't think I enjoyed it enough to read the next volume until I catch up on the books I really enjoy. This would be a great borrow from the library when I'm all caught up!

(I rated this volume 5 stars).

A really strong first volume. Great to see some gay women of colour in fiction finally! Pick this up not only to support diversity in graphic novels (and fiction in general) but also because it has a lot of great promise (plus some really nice art with an amazing, aesthetically pleasing colour palette).

“I keep hoping that you’ll prove me wrong, that you’ll finally see that all I’m trying to do is care for you. But you just keep that door to your heart closed. Why won’t you let me in?”

I recommended this book on my bookstagram (@quirkilybookish) for Pride Month 2019 because of its lesbian representation.

Motor Crush is one of my favourite comic series! It follows Domino Swift, a talented motorcyclist, as she competes in the World Grand Prix as well as illegal street races.

It’s action-packed with a super engaging mystery and awesome sci-fi technology elements.

The art style is gorgeous, lots of bright colours, and the world building is very well done.

Domino’s ex-girlfriend Lola is a key character who keeps getting dragged into trouble, and the comic follows the two of them as they team up and work through their complicated relationship.

Neither of their identities are explicitly spoken about, and their relationship is treated as completely normal without any explanation or commentary, which I absolutely loved!!

Motor Crush is a super fun and very well written comic, with gorgeous art and good representation, and I highly recommend it if you’re into comics or looking to start reading them.
