This story makes no sense but the hot lesbians + motorcycle race aesthetic (rendered masterfully by amazing Babs Tarr) is raaaaad
I'm kinda mad. I really like this so far but wasn't a fan of where this volume left us off at. Like the last issue of it in general but I'm enjoying the characters and what I understand of the plot so far if that makes sense. Very here for the gay. Love Lola and hope she works out things with Dom eventually somehow. Interested in finding answers to my many questions about Crush, Dom, and the dark rider we keep encountering. I'm entertained enough.
Um! Amazing! So much fun and a crafty mix of colour and characters! One of the most exciting graphic novels I’ve read in ages! Ready for the second tbh
i don't usually care much for racing, but this was just cool?? everything about this was set up so well - i loved the premise, character designs, backgrounds, scope of the world, and the supportive relationship we get glimpses of between domino and her ex gf lola!! btw there is this one panel that just had me in awe of Lola 😳😳😳
so this is definitely a comic i want to continue to support given the bias in the industry against diverse comics - which often leaves great stories untold and cancelled before the issues reach a trade paperback... I do hope there is enough support for the story to continue because I'm in love and the first volume ending had be shocked 😱

Ooohhhhh, I looooved this one.
Racing to get Volume II (pun intended).
Racing to get Volume II (pun intended).
A lot of action, hot babes, fast machines-- slightly confusing plot.
Domino is gonna win the World Grand Prix, she just knows it. If only she could stop running the illegal street races, brutal wars for the illegal machine accelerant, Crush. But she needs Crush, for reasons she doesn't understand.
This is one of those comics where they stretch out the origin story, give you hints and glimpses of the big secret reveal but never the full monty. It's a good thing for the writers that they managed to hook me, even as they kept me and Domino in the dark.
It was a lot of fun riding along with Domino as she outmaneuvered and outplayed her enemies and the competition. I also really enjoyed the tension between her and her ex, Lola. They obviously care about each other, but the baggage is piled high between them. That's right, it's a comic with a black female queer lead! It's not own voices but it's still pretty great.
And the artwork was phenomenal! Vivid, dynamic, with a style all it's own. Here's hoping the story makes a little more sense in the second volume, which I'm definitely going to read. 4 stars.
