I thought Treasure Island was Robert Louis Stevenson's only book. But, this is another and it's great! A nice 'gothic' psychological thriller. Kinda creepy... The way he narrated the story is great.
When you read the book you can really understand the feelings of the doctor. Just like many other great books, there's a symbolic meaning hidden in the characters. We all have evil inside. It's our choice to suppress it or nourish it.

Very interesting thought on the nature of good and evil within a man. Would make an interesting comparative essay with Paul’s writings in Romans 7.

The POV, to my surprise, was a clueless detective investigating the link between Jekyll and Hyde. If you, like me, already know the link between those characters, then it sucks what little Victorian (Edwardian?) suspense is left to glean and will make for a dry read. It ranks mid-tier for me as it has inspired much of the fiction I enjoy.
