FINALLY FINISHED OMG. Last 100 pages picked up but besides that I was not interested in this book. 2 maybe 2.5 stars, one for tarin, one for andarna

Still addictive from beginning to end! I feel like Yarros could have done a waaaaaaaay better job of establishing some characters and explaining the history behind some things. I was left a bit confused on what was happening as I got deeper in part 2. Still not clear on what she’s got planned for Andarna and I’m for damn sure stressed out about where what happens to Xaden next… but the Violet and Xaden story is STILL GOOD despite Violet’s pettiness and their terrible communication skills. I enjoyed every minute and couldn’t put it down.
