pretty overrated. it was okay, and made me feel like shit (like its supposed to). i dont really know what i was expecting because i dont think any SANE person can enjoy this book because of how dark it is. still 3 stars cause i like the writing and the story

If I could give it 0 stars I would. This is objectively the worst book I’ve ever read. I won’t even get into the failed use of irony and satire because many of the other reviews have done that. The book is poorly written. 

The thing that sticks out the most for me is that the author deliberately chose to set her book in 2001 just so she could end the book on 9/11. It’s just embarrassing and tactless that she chose to do that. Also I could see that coming the second she noted the year in the book. Gross.

I am coming back to give a written review on this book because it has been on my mind recently. The main character is not lovable, she is very flawed. I don't think she was meant to be loveable or a role model. She is an example- specifically of what not to do. Please take caution reading due to her menatl instability as that might be triggering.
