I had high hopes for this, but I wound up not liking it at all. I won’t read the rest of the series. The writing felt clunky and I didn’t care about the characters or the plot. I kept waiting to get hooked, because so many people love this series, but I just didn’t.
I love Greek mythology and Beauty & the Beast so my daughter got me this book. I didn’t think I was going to be as into it as I was because of Wren’s character but she grew on me. I found myself rooting for her and the Frost King by the end and it didn’t disappoint.
I do feel like some areas were rushed in development while some areas were too slow but overall I really enjoyed the book!

i really enjoyed the character dynamics in this one, but the writing/word choices took me out of the story every now and then. the ending felt very abrupt and a little confusing. at first i thought wren was getting the north wind's powers but i guess they just disappeared??

Thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters had substantial depth to them. Only issue was the neat little bow to tie everything up with no real explanation as to the how at the end.
