A must read, really - about the pervasive images of horror and suffering that we are constantly seeing now around us, and what it means to each one of us: as individuals, as peoples, as humanity as a whole.
A short thought provoking book. Sometimes i read just to feel like I'm not going mad. We live in a world where the horror of wars, famine and disasters are minute by minute crawling out of print and screens all around us. its easy to just harden oneself and turn away.
So its good to have a book that gives a historical context and is a gentle understanding discussion of why it is important to think and remember the pain of others.
