Just a mite cumbersome for the lay reader, but worth working through.  I worried it would feel antiquated after recent events, but nah.  It feels perrenial instead.  For anyone who has thought deeply about images of atrocities, you will find guidance here without being lectured at.

i think that some of these things just aren't true. more excitingly, i watched the new nosferatu movie tonight. not freaky enough.

Sontag is quickly becoming my favorite author.

Amazing. This thin volume packs such powerful ideas that it should be required reading for anyone who is into photography, art, or history in any way. I borrowed this from the library but will definitely get a copy for myself. Sontag's meditations on the intersection between photography and history are laser-sharp, spot on, and searing.

Som vanligt med Sontag för hon fram tanker som fortfarande, år senare, är aktuella vilket måste visa på hennes rimliga resonemang. Alltigenom bra bok med intressanta ståndpunkter, inte för lång, inte för svårläst.

Interesting musings about war and photography, violence and media. Definitely worth the read but don't expect a clear thesis. Still v informative.
