This book was great! You’ll especially appreciate it when you are traveling by yourself and have no one to talk to. Fran is an amazing and witty humorist. Can’t wait to read it again.

There are some laugh out loud moments here but not quite enough. If you are a lover of lists then this could be a book for you as there are a lot of them!

It would be better as a book to dip in and out of over time.

Fran Lebowitz is funnier than anyone I have or will ever meet.

Lebowitz essays are nice and short so I spread this out over a couple of months because I liked getting in a quick laugh once in a while.

Wickedly sharp. Brilliantly disapproving of scientists and adults in general.

I loved her Netflix series, so figured I’d try out one of her books. I disliked the first half of this book (Metropolitan Life), but things got a bit better once I got to Social Studies. Still, I didn’t find her writing all that compelling; it was mostly the same bits over and over again. If you’ve seen Pretend a City, you’ve seen the best parts.
