3.55 AVERAGE

dark funny medium-paced

A lot of the language and humour can feel a bit dated now and I'm sure that puts a lot of younger people off. It's also a series of her essays that would be wonderful and funny to read individually but as a compendium of her work it ends up feeling moany and overwhelmingly cranky. All that said, she's still one of the smartest, wittiest, funniest women around. And if you're a native New Yorker, you'll relate heavily.

Probably my new personality

DNF at 5%.

Fran Lebowitz is so funny in such a flat way; I kinda think we could be besties

Changed edition

Even though she will NEVER read my comment on Goodreads, how would she, I just wanted to say the following regardless: She truly is the Greatest Of All Time (the acronym would do her injustice), and the ending is just too 1. funny, 2. accurate, 3. relatable. I will also ... not write to get my million dollars, thanks for the tip.
