"To live in this world is to change." WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW i loved that! I loved this book. I'm listening to The Mighty Nein podcast right now and I can't believe how perfect of timing this book had for me personally. I loved Guinevere and Oskar!! I thought both of their characters were great and I'd honestly love to see more of them. I think this book was so cute and sweet and they truly deserved the love they get from each other.

Amazing fantasy read!

pretty good read!
i don't often read romantasy so i won't get too in-the-weeds about the review..
i was very engaged in the first half of the book but then the second half was a lot of the same. the only tension was sexual. kek. --> at no point was i worried about Gwen/Oskar.
i love that this book takes place in Exandria -- i love Critical Role, and Jester was my favorite part of C2.
if and when they release the paperback, i truly wish that they'll decide to have a mass market edition because it 100% gives the vibe of a 'guilty pleasure paperback romance.'
i think a big plus for this book is that it's a one-and-done... at least for now.
--> maybe if it sells out [and because they're developing a Romantasy setting for Daggerheart, based on Tusk Love] we'll get more adventures with Guinevere and Oskar.

Alright! This is not a normal book review and more like my rambling thoughts because.... I don't read romance and this is a romance book through and through! I believe in reading outside comfort genres every once and awhile, and this is part of that. My dislikes are tied very firmly into that. Continue to read if you want to listen to my rambles! (the long story short: I enjoyed it but also it was a ride for me.)

So! I grew interested in this book because I live on the outer edges of the critical role fan base (I love the fan art, and watch the gifs/clips but never sat down and watched an campaign) and I've recently partook in cozy fantasy. I thought the romance would perhaps be the subplot. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! The romance is the main focus, with the characters basically falling in love at first sight.

We venture forth! This book ventured many a sigh, and many a cringe...but I enjoyed it at times as well. I enjoy how these characters are clearly made for each other, and how their relationship develops overtime. They are nice and kind to each other, and communicate. I'm also proud of the type of masculinity Oskar shows, he is vulnerable and I appreciate seeing that. The character growth the two main characters have with each other is *chefs kiss* I believe a relationship should be one where you can help the other grow to be better, and this book has it.

I will throw myself over the edge if I hear another description of hair being like moonlight or starlight though. I felt I read it several times. I must mention that this book does not take itself seriously! I think that helps the case, when the author is aware and is having fun. Anyways! My ramblings are just insight of my journey with the book, and I do not hope to persuade anyone one way or another on this book!
