I love that James and Bob's story was continued and that things turned out the way they did. There are many life lessons that can be taken from both books. Definitely would recommend.

I haven't read Bowen's first book (A Street Cat Named Bob), but that in no way diminished my enjoyment of The World According to Bob. The book focuses on Bowen's life right before his initial book deal and up through the book's launch. It's an easy read, enjoyable, and often touching. (The drawings throughout are fun, too.)
Having finished this book, I'll definitely be picking up the previous one.

Exciting and heartwarming tales of James and Bob. I loved reading about their adventures and the hope Bob gave to him-- cats are the best. T.T
I'm a sucker for a good memoir, and for pet stories -- so I was bound to love this book. This was a good follow up to the first Bob book, as we got more insight into James' life with Bob through numerous stories that will make you happy, sad, and in-between. I like that the author always seems to be transparent about what went on in his life, even telling the pieces of his story that are difficult or may make people see him less favorably. It's all part of the story, and makes you admire him even more for it. I was glad that the story went through the publication of his first book - I was afraid it would cut off before that - because I wanted to learn how the book had changed his life. I feel there's more to be told there, so am hoping there will be a third book. Oh, and I did like the little drawings at the end of each chapter - they were super cute :) I'll be passing this book around to fellow cat lovers, or others who I know will enjoy this second installment in James and Bob's story.
