The movie was my favorite growing up, but I wasn’t much of a reader back then. Glad to read the original story! Very similar, but some things were very different, especially the Oompa Loompa songs! Oh my… it was also nice to hear a bit more about Charlie and his family, and how truly dire the situation was for them. It makes the outcome even sweeter (pun intended).
