This is such a great adventure series.

I was once again in love by the story, the details, the Zumra.

I loved how everything we learn in this world intertwined together. I will cherish this wondrous world on my shelf, always.

As the Great Altair put it: " His family. His zumra. His lifeline."

The first half was a bit slow which made it harder to really get into the story, but the second half found a much better pace, and I loved the ending and how it was crafted.

I unfortunately think that this book suffers from second book syndrome. We Hunt the Flame was AMAZING and so original, but We Free the Stars ended up getting rather repetitive. I didn't feel the sense of urgency that was present in the first book.

The relationship between Zafira and Nasir is a TRUE enemies to lovers the "will they won't they" was way too drawn out. While I understand characters not knowing what they want, it just ended up feeling way too repetitive.

That being said, I still love the characters and the setting.
