This book was honestly really annoying. It took me awhile to finish.

2/5★
Trigger warnings: parental abandonment ; death of a parent
I've never disliked a character this much. And it definitely is the reason of my 2stars rating. It's not a bad story. I just couldn't bare the female main character and it completely spoiled my lecture.
This book had everything that could make me happy: two characters that can't help but hate each others, a fake relationship trope, and a forced proximity. Three tropes that I adore. However, if I've been quite charmed by Drew (which wasn't easy since I've been quite annoyed by him in The Off Limit Rule), but Jessie? I hate her. Really, I've never been so annoyed by a character.
The haters-to-lovers truly was just Jessie being super mean to Drew for NO reasons at all. She was so childish, listening to the chapters under her pov was pure torture. And the way she suddenly got over all her insecurities and all? Like hell, she's been a pest throughout the book and suddenly she becomes sweet? Nope. So yeah, my dislike for this character definitely kept me from appreciating the story.

dnf. Jessie is the worst. I cannot stand her character. Two claps for everyone who made it through this book.

After getting hints of Drew and Jessie in the first book, I was looking forward to their story. Drew and Jessie’s pranks were fun, though I worried Jessie took it too far, but it worked out in the end. Their softness for each other over time was sweet.
