The world building and the story is a bit confusing and seems incomplete. The relationship is insta-lust. How they got some information or solved some riddles is never explained. I liked the general idea and the world but found the execution lacked.

Love the characters and world but I’m not a fan of series that continues in the same world but through different related characters. I feel like there is more of a story to be told with these ones.

One of the most overwhelming, disjointed, ungrounded books I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading… it’s a book that assumes that you are using your brain but that you have just discovered that you have a brain. Genuinely felt insulting to read. Should have DNF’d at 50 percent. Imagine, if you will, soup and this soup starts with some familiar and tasty ingredients simple, so you keep eating only to find that the chef has added so many different competing flavors and so much spice and turned up the heat so high the the soup is now mush and unpalatable and not even the spice can save it. No texture, nothing to grab on to. Very disappointing. I fully fully support reading and writing whatever you want, the slimes, and the slop and whatever, but I also suggest you find better soup to sip on.
