I didn't like the characters, neither one had anything going on that made me want to read more within their perspectives. The plot felt very lax to me, 200 pages in and I was still confused as to whether there was truly a plot or whether this book was simply about whether or not the FMC and MMC were going to sleep together or not. I don't mind smut, but tbh this book was basically all smut and that was too much for me. I didn't care enough about the characters, or the minimal plot that was being teased, to continue for another almost 400 pages.

How slow can a book be?
Slow burn is awesome and I think this book does it really well. But I am talking about the plot. The plot does not move forward. I am actually interested in whats happening but this snais pace is not for me.
The blurp also did not prepare me for the time setting this is set. I really did not expect Bridgerton fvgcdor something and the Prince of Envy.

This was such a let down after loving the Kingdom of the Wicked Series.
'Throne of the Fallen' is Kerri Maniscalco's first book in her adult aged series Prince of Sin. This series is taking place in the same world as her ya series Kingdom of the Wicked. Camilla Antonius loves art as much as her father and wants nothing other than to continue his legacy. But unfortunately she's currently being blackmailed by one of Waverly Greens savoury characters to forge art for him. When he starts to demand more than just art Camilla seizes a chance and makes a deal with a devil, the Prince of Envy to be exact. Envy needs her, he's playing a ruthless game and his clues have lead him to Camilla. He's not sure why yet, but that's where he is and as time goes on and the more they work together the more convinced he is that she is more than she seems. Either from the mystery, the game or this unshakeble draw he feels for Camilla he's determined to flesh out all her secrets.

ugh, I hate loving something, like this underworld that Maniscalco has created and then not liking a book in it. It's not so much that I didnt like it as .... I think underwhelmed might be the right way to put it. Nothing drew me in. Envy and Camilla felt like bland characters you can find in any romance with fantasy. Nothing made me feel like they were special. I felt bored and even the bits that should hold me attention it was a chore to take my time and pay attention. Is it weird to say that there was spice but little to no romance? I didnt feel a connection between the main characters at all.
Im going to give the next one a shot, I don't want to give up just yet but im really hoping theres more to it than what I got with this one.

Storyline and spice had equal footing here. Envy is dangerously sexy and I can’t really blame half the underworld for being obsessed with him.
