Look I tried. Really hard, I even tried the audiobook with Andy Serkis narrating and I just couldn't make myself slog through anymore of this damn book. It was soooooo long and sooooo booooring.

the movies are better I said what I said.

I loved this book I just wish they didn’t divide the story lines in half. I wish they integrated Frodo and Sam’s mission but the rest of the company’s instead of having them completely separate. I loved the Ents.

My favorite book. This one has it all: Shelob, Gollum, and last but certainly not least, THE BATTLE OF THE HORNBURG!!!

I absolutely love this story. As I said before this is my first time listening to the original unabridged recording of the trilogy. I'm going to head into Serkis' recent attempt after this. I get an overwhelming sense of nostalgia with Mr. inglis' voice as if it was a relative reading it to me for the very first time.

However, The Two Towers remains my favorite of the three. The dire peril Aragorn and Co. surpass is but a mirrored, yet reversed, image to the way that the novel ends with Frodo and Sam. The suspense is so high that you can't help but jump for the next novel. I love these books dearly but I seem to enjoy the chaotic nature of the middle books in series' the most. The Battle of the Hornburg, the fight against Shelob and all the parts of the story with Ents are some of my favorite moments in the series. Not to even mention the host of Rohan and the cast of brand new characters Tolkien weaves to further complicate his valiant portrait of Men in Aragorn v. a man like Wormtongue; in the same vein, the homely and simple way of the Hobbits is further complicated by the pathetic and yet evil ways of Gollum. This book has some of the most shining accomplishments of the series as a whole and I could not get enough of it. Listening even when I graded or gamed. Cannot recommend this experience enough.

Of the trilogy, I had some trouble getting through this one - stalled for a bit in the middle of the book.
