Nice! The colours are vibrant, the story gets told and each chapter has its own tone. I’ve read other people write that the characters look scary but… well… Artemis & Co. are seriously intimidating! Shouldn’t we be scared of them?

I read the first non-graphic Artemis Fowl aloud to my sons, though they each wanted to continue reading the series on their own. I highly enjoyed the title, but I didn't want to spend time reading them myself; I have so very many books to read. This graphic novel adaptation of the second Artemis Fowl was the perfect solution.

This time, I don't know how closely it follows the original, and I really don't care. It's well drawn, though there were a few frames that I had to stare at for quite some time to determine what was going on. The story is intriguing, and it's a quick read.

Artemis receives and email video showing a man tied up in the Arctic, a man that could be his father. He decides to investigate and possibly rescue the man, but he needs help (a difficult thing for Artemis to admit, surely). I was very pleased to see all of the major "People" (fairies, elves, dwarves, etc.) reappear in this story, for I somewhat expected only Artemis and his human counterparts to show up.

There is strategy, shooting, fighting, teamwork and, best of all, Artemis shows a bit of heart and humility. He seems to be maturing, and I liked him even more this time around.

I’m pretty disappointed in this book. I went into reading it high from the first book and this story fell flat for me.

I loved this book. Yes, the artwork took some getting used to and it obviously didn't match the picture in my head I had of the characters, but I still really, really, enjoyed it. It was a fun quick read that was true to the original content. The colors were vibrant and easy to see and read. 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to read more.

This is the graphic novel adaption of the second (and my least favorite) book in the Artemis Fowl series. I haven't read the series in a while, so the book was a pleasant reminder of one of my favorite middle-school series. The images are full-color, beautiful, and almost 3D, but sometimes they bothered me. For example, Holly's haircut and LARGE ears have bothered me in both graphic novels so far. Also, Opal's appearance was rather different that I had pictured. Fans of the series will enjoy seeing their favorite scenes drawn out, and hopefully new fans will get to enjoy the story. Sadly, I cannot provide a front-flap or back cover summary because I had to return the book to the library.
