I went into this book blindly because I was on a short road trip that didn’t have great service. I forgot to download what I was currently reading so I read this. It was so good!! Onto number 2! Thank goodness they’re short (5 hours and some minutes) because this had a cliff hanger that I DID NOT see coming. - Personal Opinion Side Note: the cover of this book that is displayed on this app does nothing for the book. I like the other cover better.
I sped through this because it was only a short book, thank god. I did enjoy it due to it being fast paced however it’s very insta love which I hate like Holly and Theo have literally known each other for like a week, i just don’t believe in their relationship. There was no romantic build up. But if you’re looking for a quick read then this is perfect
Didn’t want to deal with the stereotypical ending of girl gives up normal life for Mafia. Also writing is meh.
Holly is moving out of her sister’s shadow!
I loved the Merge series, and was so excited for Holly to get her own story. I definitely recommend reading it first of you haven’t, although you won’t be lost without it. Holly is an identical twin, and she is the quiet one. She feels like she’s been in Reilly’s shadow, and is looking for a fresh start after a traumatic event and her sister’s marriage. She moves across the globe for a teaching job, and finds herself ensnared by Theo. She doesn’t realize he’s next in line in a mafia family, but the attraction for both is instantaneous. The insta love, insta possessive, is pretty standard for this author, and I’m here for it. Holly is struggling to remake herself as Holly 2.0 and she’s on a crash course with leaving that wallflower behind. Obviously, things are not going to go smoothly for them. It ends on a killer cliffhanger, and I’m jumping right in to the next one.

Theo and Holly are incredible. I love an Australian girl moves to New York and falls for the bad guy who’s only good for her storyline to the point that I stayed up way too late reading this book. The cliffhanger is rough but thank goodness book two is already out. I will need to read everything Kylie Kent has ever written now!

I was so excited to receive an ARC for this book, because I absolutely loved the merge series and have been waiting for Holly’s story! I love a good mafia romance and of course I loved Theo right away. The way he says something to her in Italian and then translates it just so he can say it twice had me swooning. It definitely wasn’t as dark as a lot of mafia books I’ve read, but I didn’t mind. I seriously wish this book was longer and I can’t wait to see what happens next because of the dang cliff hanger!
