This book was so clever and different. A mystery with clues. I couldn't get enough. I didn't read, "Everyone In My Family Is a Murderer", but I think I'm going to add it to my list.

Entertaining, just like the first one. Snarky, funny, self-referential, full of mystery tropes. This one is set at a writer’s festival that takes place on The Ghan, a train that crosses Australia.

I didn’t love it as much as the first Ernest Cunningham but it was still fun and a quick read.

Not as good as the first, but enjoyed it still. You can read this one without reading his first book.

Not quite as good as the first, just due to it not feeling as high stakes. Still a very entertaining mystery and Ernest is such a fun narrator. I hope there will be more!

oh of course the irish girl was the murderer… completely fails to consider that no irish person in history has ever been called harriet

Stevenson continues to keep me leaning in, even as I continue to question (some of) his writing choices. I'm still not crazy about the narrator speaking directly to me throughout and there are some over the top moments, but it's a fun read with a series of twists.
