REVIEW FOR FUTURE ME WHEN I FORGET THAT I EVEN READ THIS BOOK:

The problem with reading books that you added to your tbr 7 years ago is that you can’t remember why you added them and also you clearly used to be into really boring books. This sucked. You had no idea how to orient yourself within the story and were confused about the dual narrators for 98% of the book and then the connection reveal was either also confusing or just irrelevant. Laura was a loser, Freddie was a bore and Sunshine was a caricature. As for the other story line, you have no idea who anyone was or what the plot was other than that someone died and they talked about bad books a lot. Wtf was Baby Jane? You don’t care. The only interesting parts were the stories Anthony imagined about the lost things he collected, and even they were sometimes confusing. They can add “your interest” to their collection of things that were lost.

The quote: “Downstairs her husband waited expectantly. Twenty-six years they had been married, and he had done his best to let Margaret know how much he loved her for every one of those years. He loved her with his fists and his feet. His love was the color of bruises. The sound of breaking bones. The taste of blood.”

8/10 : A thoroughly enjoyable read, if a touch sad, with realistic & likeable characters. I really loved the concept of this book, & the intrinsic link between tangible objects & the memories they carry. Sometimes things aren’t just ‘things’.

Quick easy read. Nothing special.

It’s a beautiful story filled with the perfect amount of love. Be it love between couples, or the love of friends, the book brims with it. I was enamored with the lost items and learning their stories. There are times I wished there was more to it-more details about the characters and their motivations, but overall it was wonderful.

I really liked this book in its beginning…I loved the relationship between Anthony and Laura. And the things that Sunshine says are funny as hell! But not quite halfway through it kinda became a bit too predictable, and I’m not that clever.
Also, I was surprised by all the grammatical errors I found…so much so that I began to circle them. I first thought maybe it’s an ‘over-the-pond’ thing I’m not aware of, but sadly not. Kind of boggles the brain.
I liked the concept of the lost things being logged, and the snippets written about them were excellent, I just have no idea whose voice they were in. One of many of the loose ends. Cute story overall though

It was such a good book, I couldn't put it down. In the beginning, it was kind of slow, but once you understand the story and get a grasp of what's happening, it's addicting. The Keeper of Lost Things is a book that everyone should read at some point in their lifetime. It's a story of things lost, things found and an overall appreciation for life.

I loved this book. I loved the characters, including the ones in the parallel story. I loved the idea of reuniting people with their lost things. It's possible that I loved it because it was the perfect book for the place I'm at emotionally right now. But it was a feel-good book without being silly or too light.
