FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I'm not a fan of Christine Feehan, as I pretty much tend to avoid paranormal romance anymore, but when I saw that this was more a MC romance, I decided to give it a shot, and boy am I glad I did!

For fans of Feehan's paranormal works, I can say that I see some paranormal things hinted at, so you would feel at home reading this. For those like me that are avoiding paranormal, I would say that there's not enough of it present to turn you away from the story!

It definitely featured the tortured hero trope, and even a little of the Villain to Hero trope as well, but it is so much more than the tropes! I loved the sense of family that was evident in this Club, it was so much stronger than what I had seen in other MC books! I believe the shared bond really strengthened it.

I enjoyed reading about Reaper and Anya. I found it very believable, the way their romance grew, and the lengths they went for one another. I loved Anya's strength, and her ability to help the club achieve their missions. However, it felt like I was missing something while I was reading this, as if there was a prequel story that I needed to have read beforehand, possibly with Czar and Blythe's story. It could just be me and my innate curiosity!

I am definitely looking forward to more books in this series!

My first MC romance but I’ve been really enjoying Christine Feehan’s writing this month across the board

This series is an offshoot of the Sea Haven/Sisters of the Heart series and introduced the characters in the last book, Bound Together, which is Czar’s story.

Reaper is the enforcer for the Torpedo Ink motorcycle club. He lives for riding and fighting. Feelings are a weakness Reaper refuses to show, until he meets the sexy bartender Anya. He fights his feelings for weeks but after one touch he can’t let her go.

This book was fast, furious, and dark. Reaper, and the Torpedo Ink group, are a tight knit family that was created from a horrific situation. Reaper is the tough as steel enforcer who shows no emotions until it comes to Anya. She brings life back into him and makes him face his past. Anya is Reaper's opposite. She is a beautiful, kind soul who is just to find her way in life.

Reaper and Anya’s story was a rollercoaster of emotions and acceptance. Their journey was brutal, emotional, and painful, all of which was necessary for their happiness. This was an intense, dark, emotional, and action packed book that kept me hooked from the first page. If you enjoy dark romances or Feehan’s books definitely check this series out.

Also, this was just as good as I remembered it being and I cannot wait to dive into the next one.

Reader Warning:
- Hero raped and abused as a child.
- Torture and rape of side characters.
- Also discusses pedophila and human trafficking.

I am ALL about Reaper.
Love. Him.
Love his dark backstory, his dynamism, and his overwhelming sexy.
I love the "family" this author created for him and how she illustrated the psychological effects of the trauma of their upbringing.

And the sex...

The only reason I knocked this down a bit was the uneven, repetitive narration. The first two chapters were slow and rough to get through. I almost gave up, but am so glad I didn't.
I'm definitely going to read more of this series.

There's some sexy things about the story and the members of the club are interesting, but Reaper (even keeping in mind his PTSD) is an asshole. It's my first Feehan story, so I'm going to try a few more, but I prefer to read sexual connections that are about mutual pleasure. The sex scenes in this book are dominated by a selfish, dominating protagonist. However, if that's your thing, you'll love this story.

Edit: I went back and read the Drake Sisters and Sea Haven series' and I recommend doing that before starting the Torpedo Ink stories. It helps give a detailed context for who the characters are, and a greater understanding of the various side characters as well.

Trigger warnings: Abuse, Rape, Pedophilia and More. This is a dark book.

This was difficult to read at times. It's a dark, MC romance with a lot of the bad elements that come with MC's. I didn't expect that since Feehan hasn't gone down that road before, and the two previous series' set in this world weren't like that. Had I gone into it with different expectations, I may not have been as surprised by the violence as I was.

If you're looking for a dark, gritty romance, this is the one for you. It is not for the faint of heart.
