Definitely a fantastic dystopian. I loved this world and the reimagining of this world without natural death. Citra and Rowan are scythe apprentices, and in this world, scythes are the only way to experience true death. Hundreds of years in the future, the thunderhead has taken over all intelligence, and solved all of humanities problems. Now the only issues is that we are too perfect. How the Scythes inact death in a managed and balanced way throughout the world. They are the only way someone can die, and only they decide. They are balanced, precise, and unbiased... Or are they? So many twists! Highly recommend!

A Dystopian Masterpiece.
This was an such a wild ride. At first, I found the book to be okay BUT THEN I WAS SHOCKED WITH SO MANY TWISTS AND TURNS!!! Couldn't put the book down no matter how hard I tried.
In addition, I loved how the story was not only exciting, but very reflective aswell ! with a lot of food for thought about human nature and our distant future. Can't wait to put my hands on the next book!! I want to know what happens next so bad.

(Little side note: as someone Jewish and Israeli who considers Golda Meir a role model, I was filled with so much joy when I saw an important Scythe with that name!! )

I have nothing but good things to say about this incredible book. It is labeled as YA, but I feel like it's more NA in the reading. It's got something for everyone -- sci-fi, mystery, action, politics -- without being too overwhelming in any one area.

The main characters are likeable and grounded; they feel real and interesting in this crazy Scythdom world they've entered.
While the beginning is a bit boring while they're together, it gets infinitely better as they're apart. They end up in vastly opposite circumstances, giving us a better view of what is happening in the world.

I often see twists coming, and I'm rarely truly surprised, but this book shocked me.
I was certain Goddard and his cronies would be the series antagonists; their downfail was an unexpected and welcome surprise. As for Faraday, I saw that coming, but didn't expect him to be so out of the loop; I'm going we see more of both him and Curie.

Scythe is a fascinating look at when “the great equaliser” Death is wiped out. I’ve read a few books from Shusterman and what I love most is how he approaches very dark subjects and uses humour to lighten it up.

I absolutely adored Rowan and the journey he goes on as a scythe’s apprentice. The world building is well done and though humanity and technology know literally everything, it’s interesting to see that perfection is….boring 😂😂

I knocked a star off for a couple of scenes close to the end that felt gratuitous and in my opinion didn’t need to happen
