I'll be honest it's a bit of a struggle to get through this series as times. There were new characters introduced in this book. I liked some of them, and others I'm indifferent towards. The plot was predictable and I found the writing style to be a little annoying at times.

Shoutout to my booksta friend, Mikayla, for letting me send reactions and answering all of my dumb questions ๐ she mentioned that this book is more domestic when I was starting it, and I had no idea what that meant. But it's a great way to describe it actually! It focuses far more on the familial relationships and the important relationships in these kids lives.
I think I also liked it better because we weren't following someone who was thrust into the Shadow World without knowing what it is and then into some war or turmoil or something. This one is a bit slower paced and I enjoyed that more. There was mystery and investigation. And twists!
Plus the characters are fantastic. Excited to learn more about these characters!
