I put off reading this trilogy for a long time, I've tried some years ago, found it slow, stopped after 40 pages. Now, picked it up again, i liked it way more and appreciated it way more. Loved both Emma and Mark
but in those last two pages... even though I can see and understand the reasoning, i can't help but think that it is a Stupid idea, we will see how it evolves i suppose.
Also loved Ty but mostly because I relate to him a lot. It definitely feels like the slowest trilogy so far (except TLH, haven't read that one yet), but in the end the slowness kinda makes sense.

This starts out a bit slow but once the ball is rolling it’s ROLLING. Plenty of action and surprises to keep things interesting. The romance was nice and not as rushed as it is in the mortal instruments. Up until the epilogue though it felt like this book could be a stand alone so I’m curious how the story will proceed without feeling forced.

In case anyone is keeping track, I really didn't enjoy TMI and LOVED TID. So this series had me nervous since so many people love it and I was on the fence about Clare's series.

Shoutout to my booksta friend, Mikayla, for letting me send reactions and answering all of my dumb questions 😅 she mentioned that this book is more domestic when I was starting it, and I had no idea what that meant. But it's a great way to describe it actually! It focuses far more on the familial relationships and the important relationships in these kids lives.
I think I also liked it better because we weren't following someone who was thrust into the Shadow World without knowing what it is and then into some war or turmoil or something. This one is a bit slower paced and I enjoyed that more. There was mystery and investigation. And twists!

Plus the characters are fantastic. Excited to learn more about these characters!
