This is the best first book in Cassandra's series. And I absolutely adored it.
It's been a while since I finished the book, but I'm finally managing to write a review.
Lady Midnight felt absolutely differently. It had its own sophisticated, enchanting and thrilling world and was pretty emotional. The love she makes us feel towards all of the characters is encompassing and I couldn't help and wanted to hug everyone there.
I'm thankful for the fact that we got to know much better about the faeries.
All the words can't express my love towards the Blackthorns, Emma, and Cristina, the characters I grew to know better since their first appearance in Cassie's previous works or got acquainted with for the first time in this book.
Cassandra makes sure that every time she publishes a new book, she breaks the hearts of million people and makes them suffer, however, she satisfies and pleases them at the same time!
Lady Midnight is one of my favourite Cassandra's books and, without a doubt, she grew as a writer and gave us a splendid and sophisticated characters, who make us experience all the billion feels at once, gave us an engrossing and absorbing plot and the storyline was complicated and exquisite.
The love line made me throw myself off a cliff because it is hard to cope with the feelings and problems that the characters, whom you truly love and feel so much that it physically hurts, endure throughout the book. Moreover, the way Cassandra opened up these characters, their personalities, their deeds and actions, words - everything felt amazingly fresh and the book is so well-written that you do not want to put it down or ever end.
The story itself is rich and is probably the best and the most epic one from all the other Shadowhunters' tales.
It felt like a world's biggest gift to return to Cassandra's Shadowhunters' World.
I have the Highest Expectations for this trilogy to become my favourite one!

I mean... why do I keep reading these? I once heard someone compare them to bad television and like... yeah. It's so bad you can't look away from it. And yeah, there were some really cringey moments—comparing someone's eyes to "artifically illuminated water"—some questionable choices, and a whole lot of stalling, but it was still good! I like the characters all right, enough for me to want to continue it. Shadowhunters has a hold on me unlike anything else and honestly, what's a girl to do? Also more Jem please. Allll the Jem. I am convinced that I'm just a Carstairs in hiding waiting to be unveiled lol!
4.5/5 This book started off amazing . I didn’t want to put it down . Didn’t want to read anything else but it. I felt so many emotions while reading it & it made me feel how I felt when I read the others. . I loved being in that world again , recognizing all the things I had fell in love with before . I give this a 4.5 because that Ending hurt my Heart , in more than one way. I understand why it was done I just wish they used something different to keep them apart . Not have her hurt him so intensely . Especially since she knew everything that would make is so difficult to come back from. I’m definitely completing the trilogy and every book Cassandra Clare publishes in this world.

v tired of forbidden love, like surely there are shadowhunters who are allowed to fall in love and also do fall in love? the book progressively worsened. the first bit was super fun, the characterization was pretty great, and the blackthorns are delightful. but then all the cool family stuff got thrown to the side by the forbidden love stuff that I care v little about so the last 2-3 hundred pages were just kinda eh. I wanted to hear more about ty and dru and livvy and not about how these two people who aren’t supposed to fell in love with each other whoops.

The storyline was very well done. However, I didn't care for the angle Ms Clare took with Mark's love interest nor the ending. I'm not going to say why because I don't want to spoil it. It is definitely worth the read even if you have to skim over a few sections.
