The Flood by Meghan O'Flynn is a look at humanity in desperate times. This book hooked me from the beginning and I really got invested in Victoria's story. What has started to become a commonplace weather problem of a flood takes on a whole new level of horror in this story. Victoria and her husband Chad are rescued from their roof by someone who tells them of a safe space with food and water to wait out the continuing storms and rising waters. What they discover when they arrive is most disturbing. I really have enjoyed this author's books in the past and this did not disappoint in the least. The characters are well written and it tests what people will do when put in a desperate situation.

The Flood
By Meghan O’Flynn

Every time I pick up a book by this author I wonder what I’m going to be in for and I have to say The Flood certainly had my overactive imagination going long after I have read it – thankfully I chose to read it in the day!! I was completely hooked from beginning to end – she certainly has a way of capturing your attention and not letting go until the end. The storyline was gripping and that continued throughout the whole story. I will say this isn’t a story where I particularly connected with the characters because I think I was too busy trying to guess what was going to happen! I was certainly kept guessing the whole way through!
The Flood is a fabulous read and definitely one not to be missed!!!

Ok this is NOT what I thought it would be. I thought it would be about a group of people who all ended up at the same place for shelter. Well I guess this is that but this so much darker or maybe evil is a better word. This story embodies the question of what would you do to survive. Everyone has limits but some are a little further down the line than others. Needless to say the character construction was really good (typical of Meghan O’Flynn). There are layers upon layers with each character. Just when you think...i have it figured out! Guess what? You don’t!

This isn’t my first Meghan O’Flynn Book and It is not my favorite. This was a little gruesome for me and there was too much narrative(too much time spent in Victoria’s head). That’s not to say it’s not a good story because it is...just not my kind of story.

My most favorite genre is psychological thrillers in books. Meghan O’Flynn has become a great author for suspense and psychological thrillers. The Flood is an amazing wicked psychological thriller. The story is a fast read, but you need to keep your eyes open as there are twists and turns around every bend. I was at the edge of my seat and even scream at some of the parts of the book. Ms. O’Flynn has developed characters that I got creeped out at. The story is one that will keep you looking over your shoulders. The Flood, in theory could really happen. That is what makes this story so much more real. Enjoy the journey that Ms. O’Flynn has in story for you.

This author is fast becoming one of my go to authors for suspense. I loved this book, it just might be my favorite yet. This author’s writes suspense stories that pull me in from the beginning. They are engaging and have sitting on the edge of your seat suspense until the end. Some of these characters are dark and some twisted. The town is trapped by the flood but as people start dying, they start looking towards their rescuer. Is there more than meets the eye to him? This is a must read.

I don’t usually read this genre of books anymore. A book which has a main focus on a psychopathic person seeking revenge on others. That being said, I found The Flood: A Novel to be a good read. It brought back for me memories of reading Stephen King when I was younger. The book set a good pace and kept my interest. The twist and turns it gook kept me guessing on how it was going to end. Meghan O’Flynn definitely has a future and I look forward to seeing more from her.

This story is crazy good. With a big emphasis on CRAZY. The prologue of this story leaves you squirming, a little uneasy and completely under O’Flynn’s control. The story continues like the eye of a hurricane. The calm is there but you know something big is about to happen.

I didn’t like Victoria at the beginning. She acted as if she had little feelings, almost as if she was better than everyone else, certainly didn’t like her husband anymore. Through the course of this story, though, feelings are brought out and explained. Victoria has her reasons as do the others stuck in the bunker.

O’Flynn’s stories leave you a little leery of the world around you. What sinister things could be waiting to happen, either in real life or in O’Flynn’s mind?! I recommend this book for a little escape from the romance of life.

The Flood is the latest release by Meghan O’Flynn- and what a mind-twisting and intense read this has been. Ms. Flynn’s books always leave me looking over my shoulder with their sinister and creepy tones- and this one was certainly all that and more. I don’t know quite how to categorize it, as it has a little bit of everything from psychological thriller, to suspense, and mystery with dark, twisted, gruesome, and nightmarish developments and situations that had me scrambling to stay on top of everything that was happening. There were so many scenarios running through my mind while I was reading, and I was trying to piece everything together and figure out what exactly was happening. But there was more going on than meets the eye, that’s for sure- and things become clearer little by little, as the story unfolds. I was left guessing, and I was never quite sure where Ms. O’Flynn was ‘taking’ me. As expected, Ms. O’Flynn has spun a brilliant web of intrigue and it’s certainly one story I won’t forget any time soon.
I did have a little trouble connecting with Victoria especially at the beginning, but as the story progressed and details were revealed, she grew on me more.
Another well-spun tale that made all the hairs on the back of my neck stand to attention, and will definitely have me looking over my shoulder for a while to come.

Thank you, Ms. Flynn!!!

I finished this book a few days ago and have not been able to find the words to put in this review, and I'm still not sure but going to give it my best shot.

I'm not sure if I would have chosen this book without this author’s name on it, she became a favorite of mine back while reading her Ash Park Series and now I think I'd read anything she comes up with. Choosing this book after reading the synopsis proves that.

This story affected me from word one, I was totally invested in Victoria’s character and I can not explain why but everything that occurred in this book opened up new sides to her and I truly felt like I understood her.

The rest of this story was a complete mystery that revealed itself little by little..One of those you get a whole lot of AHA moments and then immediately start trying to figure out more. I seriously had so many different endings going on in my head and was so amazed at how completely wrong I was from the start.

I thought this book would give me nightmares and thankfully it has not, but I still get chill bumps when I think about the story or even see the cover. It was AMAZING, written so that you could almost feel, see, smell, and hear exactly what these people were and I can't recommend it enough. This amazes me because again I wouldn't normally choose this genre but again I'll choose anything by this author!!

Loved It!
