This is a perfectly fine book, but for some reason it didn’t really hold my interest. I frequently found myself distracted while reading it. After reading the first two books in the series I was very invested in the Madigan familial relationships and would have liked to see them get more attention from the author. Crew decided to be part of his family again without actually putting much effort into repairing the rifts that had keep him away, and I guess somehow that was fine with everyone else? After the intense family drama of the previous books, it felt odd. I really like Raven. She felt very authentic to me and had her own family baggage that didn’t all get neatly wrapped up in a bow at the end, because sometimes that’s how life goes.
