❝You idiot, you have me! We have each other's back, remember?❞
This was 100x better than the previous novel, character-driven and with many action sequences. The twists left me breathless and shook. I am so glad I gave this book a chance because IT WAS EPIC.
Following the events of the previous book, Kurugar and Fiona are in the middle of a revolution, fighting against other Monarchs and winning. Soon enough, a battle puts Fiona in a coma and against the council's wishes Kurugar takes her and starts a journey towards The South Pole. The story blossoms from there.
Fiona and Kurugar were a duo I never knew I needed! Fiona is selfless and puts her friends and life above all else, even herself. Kurugar is the exact opposite, caring only about himself, his sister and surprisingly : Fiona. They both slowly win eachother's trust and throughout the pages of the book we see them deeply understand the other. Understanding became a strong friendship and
comradeship. What a ride! Basically my favourite part of the book.
All the characters developed further more with a few exceptions and pleased me enough! Ralph was a pain in the ass once again, I kept wishing Kurugar just killed him off but that would destroy the entire character development Kurugar had, so Ralph was unfortunately left standing.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE FINALE, I'LL JUST KEEP REREADING THIS BOOK TILL THE FINALE COMES
