A vast improvement from Vol. 2. Some of the stories are still quite pulpy, but Dick expands into other interesting areas such as horror (especially the title story) and his political commentary strengthens considerably.

Continues Dick's run of seminal short stories from right at the start of his legendary career. The Cold War paranoia and fear of nuclear extinction in these stories suggests the sense of urgency that drove their composition.
