This is pretty much my ideal Nancy Drew book. Cute, fun, interesting mystery, exciting adventures, fun banter between the characters...and the Christmas setting is a bonus! I also think this might be my favorite Nancy Drew / Hardy Boys teamup—I liked that there's never any implication of romance between Frank and Nancy (not on board with that ship, personally, but that's an essay for another time), and I thought it was fun to see Joe and Nancy work together, which is a dynamic the books don't usually explore.
Oh, and tiny detail, but I LOVED that at the end when Nancy and the Hardys' family and friends come to stay at the lodge, Hannah Gruen is included in the group! For some reason Hannah was one of my favorite characters when I was younger (which is weird, because she's hardly in the books at all, except to occasionally be concerned for Nancy, but I remember reading The Phantom of Pine Hill and when Nancy got the note telling her to come home because Hannah was ill, I was SO upset and worried. ANYWAYS), but even though we're constantly told she's "like family", she usually doesn't get treated as such. There's a lot of classism in the original books, which I think definitely plays a part. At any rate, as a fan of Hannah Gruen, I'm glad she got to go have Christmas at the ski lodge with the child she pretty much raised. #includeHannahInMoreStuff

A quick read if you like Nancy Drew. However, this book just didn't wow me.

This was a fun Nancy Drew mystery. I was obsessed with ND when I was a kid and she still doesn’t disappoint. Lots of secret doors and scandal!!

I wanted a light, holiday-themed audiobook and this fit the bill perfectly. I grew up reading Nancy Drew mysteries, and the Nancy Drew Diaries are a fun, modern take on the classic girl detective. Plenty of twists and red herrings, but classic Nancy spunk and determination. This was perfect for listening at work and the nostalgia factor alone put a smile on my face.

With Nancy Drew in a big hotel over winter I feared it might have gone the way of the Shining, but luckily it didn't. However, there were some scarry bits.
I wouldn't have considered reading this on my own but it was a great choice for my daughter and me. We both really enjoyed it and I was very eager to read more to learn who dunnit. Having the Hardy Boys make an appearance did make my younger inner me scream for joy. A fun read!
