You can tell a lot from a book by reading the epigraph in the beginning. This book said:
“NOTES FROM A TOWN MEETING IN MILFORD, CONNECTICUT, 1640: Voted, that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; voted, that the earth is given to the Saints; voted, that we are the Saints.”
In other words, we are in the shepherds of the earth and, apparently, we are not doing such a good job.

The writing was solid but I just couldn’t connect with the character and it was difficult to follow at times.

Perfectly portrays the anxieties about climate change, and life itself, in the most basic way possible. I mean that as a good thing. There were beautiful lines that touched a little too close to home for me, and other lines that earned a humoured snort - and some lines that did both!
I had to read this for a class and it's one of those readings that I'll be keeping on my shelf for a long time if not forever. All around a really good read!

The style reminded me of Lockwood's No One Is Talking About This, but the voice was less unique and less moving.
