This book follows the same template as the others in the series. We start out with a new POV, and back in time, and slowly the story progresses to catch up to the previous books up until present, it includes old characters perspectives and new.
It started with a couple i wasn't interested in unfortunately, which distracted me more than i would wish, being irritated by it.
As usual, with so many characters it was difficult to remember who's who, but the plot did move forward, and the story continues to weave together masterfully.
By the and i was fully immersed, and i look forward to the next book.

All hail the mighty Cinda Williams Chima for she can do little wrong.
So nice to return to this world and these characters - everything seems to be building up for some major shit to hit the fan in the next book and WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR PLEASE NO IT'S JUST LIKE THE GOOD OLD HARRY POTTER TIMES.
Seriously can more people read her books PLEASE THEY ARE SO GOOD AND SMART.

I really disliked the beginning of this. Immediately a romance between two boys was introduced and I was not a fan. As the book went on the boys separated and it was mentioned less often. The different storylines started to get tied together at this point which for me really pulled this series together. I recommend for ages 14+

All of the main characters are children/teens which makes very little sense in the story and with their roles. Just have to pretend they are adults to make it an enjoyable story
I'm going to raise the rating of this book overall. We had to suffer through 2.10 books to finally get into a plot. It is taking a while but all the characters are converging towards a very interesting place: Weeping Sisters(?) And yet, we still need to know about things like... what the heck is going on with Celestine.
Best of series so far. 4,5 stars added to five because its so unusual for series to get better instead of worse

Review on my blog: http://aideensbookobsession.blogspot.com/2018/10/stormcaster-by-cinda-williams-chima.html?m=1
That ending. Holy shit. I LOVE how women play such important, bad-ass roles in the Shattered Realms series when too often men are the sole heroes of fantasy books. Stormcaster gives us the backstory of Evan Strangward and continues to follow important characters such as Lyss, Adrian, Destin, and Hal, though let me say, it's a little confusing when one chapter switches POVs without any discernible warning--at least, not in the ebook version. I am a little offended and very disappointed that the main romance of this book, Evan and Destin, makes such a brief appearance. I'm all about queer relationships, but it's unfair that they got so much less page time compared to Adrian/Jenna and Lyss/Hal.
