I wanted to like this more than I did. Great concept, but it just dragged and I almost abandoned it several times.

Solid 4 stars! The audiobook is very well narrated and brings a lot of depth to the story. My only regret with the audiobook is that I felt I missed out on what the Diné words LOOKED like, which is probably weird, but whatever.

Very well-written, great main character, interesting array of side characters. I love the world-building and the pacing was excellent. My only gripes were wanting to see more of the side characters (although I assume that will come in the sequels) and some confusion regarding some leaps in logic/narrative plot points that I didn't quite follow, most particularly the leap to the climax and some of the character's motivations for their actions around that scene. But I'm very excited to read the sequel and find out what's in store for Maggie next!!

The characters, plot, and setting lean heavily on cliche. None of the three are well developed or fleshed out. It feels a lot like fan fiction more than a real novel. Even so, some of the elements of world building are unique and there’s enough action and fast pace to keep you moderately entertained.

Reads like a blockbuster movie script. Quite entertaining.

Fun.
This was a reread for me and I think I enjoyed it more this time through.
I had fun with the characters and the world.
Hope Roanhorse will return to this world.
