A fabulous book that tells the story about brilliant, creative people who came together, worked together, and put together a marvelous, pulitzer prize winning musical.

This is an absolutely riveting account of the artistic process through the eyes of Sondheim's key collaborator on Sunday in the Park with George. It's all written through first hand accounts and made me feel like I was right there through the challenges and triumphs of true artistic creation. This is a must read for all who are interested in the artistic process, not only devout Sondheim fans.

Sunday in the Park With George is not a favorite musical of mine, but I love a behind the scenes look at anything creative. This is an oral history style book, with many of the key players discussing the musical from the beginning, and written by Lapine, who wrote the book for the musical. This was fascinating, but there were so many people involved it would have been nice if they always included their role every time they were quoted.
