This was very intriguing and a really good intro into this series. As a teen wolf show and fanfic lover…this series is right up my ally.

I've heard a lot about Patricia Brigg's 'Mercy Thompson' series so I wanted to give her a go, but this was the only book of hers immediately available. It's a prequel to a related series, so I guess it's a decent taster of her worldbuilding? It was all right, but nothing to write home about. Omega's just seem to be peacekeepers in this universe, so nothing particularly exciting. The MC's a bit 'Not Like Other Girls', though I guess she goes against type by being so downtrodden when she's first introduced. I also liked the love interest; I think it's cool that he's a Native American character, though I have no idea whether it's good representation. I'd be interested to hear Own Voices' opinions on him. Still, he seemed pretty cool, though I did think it was a bit iffy that his dad, the top werewolf, is a Welsh white man who apparently looks like he's in his twenties? The big plot twist was pretty predictable too. I'd still be interested to read the Mercy Thompson series though.

Alpha and Omega was a wonderful introduction to Patricia Briggs's Alph and Omega series. I had met some of the characters in the first Mercy Thompson book but really did not know them yet. This novella introduces us to Charles and Ana. Charles was born a werewolf about two hundred years ago. He ranks third in his father's pack. Ana has been a werewolf for three years and was turned without her consent. The three years have been filled with abuse of every type including sexual. Holter Graham did a wonderful job narrating. I was very glad I read Alpha and Omega before Cry Wolf, the first book in the series.
