This series is so well written and so addicting!!! I love all the secrets and mystery. We got a lot more clarity in this book but there are still some things I need answers to! I love how Orlaith grew in this book, and I am loving the development of all the side characters, and relationships. The villains were fully revealed as villains and let’s just say I hope they get what’s coming to them because they are despicable. I went on a roller coaster of emotions with this one and I loved it! Book 4 can’t come soon enough. Sarah A. Parker has my everlasting devotion and is definitely a top favorite author for me!
I love everything that this woman writes. Her writing style is fantastic and I ove how this story is unfolding. There is SO MUCH left to uncover! And I have so much to say, but I am just so overwhelmed by all the bits and pieces of information that I am at a loss for words.
I want to dive inside Sarah A. Parker's mind. She's so talented and creative and it reflects in her story telling in a magnificent way. Orlaith's development is beautiful and painful to witness, I am at awe with how "real" she feels to me. She goes from being sheltered her whole life, to uncovering major secrets and forming a coup in enemy territory and coming out alive! I have a feeling Orlaith will form into a powerful badass queen and I am sat haha I am here for this transformation.
Let me talk about the tension.... The anguish, the guilt, the sorrow.. ugh it was almost too much to handle. At times I felt the boiling emotions became tangible and I could feel it in every page. Now I am bereft and choking on the many questions in my mind, and trying to decipher what is going to happen next.

Absolute perfection. I beyond enjoyed savoring this re-read. Book 4 can’t get into my hands fast enough!

I finished this book about 10 days ago and have read 5+ books since then and I just can’t stop thinking about it. I miss Sarah’s writing and I miss Orlaith!! Can’t wait to jump back into this world with book 4.
4.5/5 stars. Wow this book was the best of the series. So much action but still a lot more questions that aren’t answered so we def need the 4th book out. (Think queen of shadows when there’s so much going on but it’s not the end of the series). When I say slow burn I mean SLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW BUUUUUURRRRRRRRRNNNNN. That’s a love it or hate it thing. It is a dark fantasy so the trauma is real. Still don’t really understand Kai’s play in all this or vicious; and it was still whiplash-y so that’s why it’s not a 5. The writing is AMAZING the story telling is great just slow.
