The best of the three but the last third of this book should have been the last two books.
I’m honestly so frustrated and not interested in these characters at this point. The FMC finally had some spine, but lost it again. The MMC is controlling, flat, and has no strongly redeeming traits. The addiction plot like has totally disappeared. The cool friend from book 1 seems to have no point anymore. The prophecy is vague and confusing.
Won’t be finishing the series, kind of wish I’d stopped before finishing book 1.

3.5 round down to 3.
This was the standout of the series for me. It really made me wish that books one and two had been shortened and combined into one, because I could finally see where this series was going. Sarah A. Parker writes so beautifully, but the plot was so slow and unclear up until midway through this book.
Orlaith finally finds purpose and the world building finally begins to make sense.
Will I read book four? Probably. Would I recommend this series? Probably not.

When I tell you I absolutely love this author. I have never enjoyed being dripped information at the slowest rate possible this much. I was thrilled to actually get much wanted answers by the end though. There is still so much more to know!! These books have some of the most beautiful quotes. I will have to do a reread soon, and actually highlight. There was no time for that in my devouring.
How long do I have to wait?!?! Ugh. Still so many unanswered questions!
