Just not fun and too heavy. The purple prose was almost suffocating and the plot unravelled to slowly. It feels like I’ve been reading about the main character spiraling for three books. Might pick it back up as I don’t like to leave series unfinished but am not sure. Now I know why the author needs breaks between the books. I do too!!
Are you freaking kidding me. Iv never been so mad at a book in my life....literally have no idea what happened. Not a HEA and like nothing was resolved. What about baze and zade and everyone else. What the actual heck there is NO WAY this is a trilogy.....

This book is the best in the series so far!! And I was so relieved to read that there is so much more of this story waiting to be told! Tysm Sarah 😅 I have so many questions that need answering!🖤
This book gave me everything I was needing from the first two. It was fast paced with the plot constantly moving along, unraveling truths whilst simultaneously thickening the lore along the way!🩸
The characters are so thoroughly thought out and well developed. Even smaller characters have pasts which are interlaced with the overriding plot. Everything Sarah A Parker writes is done so with purpose! Constantly weaving links and clues (and now so many questions that I need answers to 🤣) into the narrative as we try and piece them together with Orlaith!🍃
I just loved this book.

Three books in and I’m still a little confused. I’m getting whiplash from the MCs loving vs hating each other and from the FMC going from wimpy to heroic, while maintaining a naivety that should have seen her dead already. The entire first book the MMC was a raging asshole and then he’s basically stalking her for two books. Some parts were exciting and interesting, but some parts dragged and there’s sooo much emotional damage with every single character. I’m not sure why this series has gotten so much hype. All I know is she should’ve given her v-card to the hot mermaid Kai. And I’ll probably read the next book since I invested an entire weekend on this.

Alright, I was super pumped to dive into this book, thinking it was the grand finale of what I thought was a trilogy. But man, was I wrong, and not in the best way.
The main character spent like 70% of the book just drowning in self-loathing. It got old really fast. Seriously, it felt like the story was just stuck, and I ended up skipping pages because her endless pity party was too much. The angsty vibe that rocked in the first two books? Yeah, not happening here. It just dragged on and on.
The pacing was also a mess. Just like in the second book, where the main character bails from her safe space and the love interest eventually follows (not until like 60% into the book), this one pulled the same stunt. The love interest doesn’t even show up until about 75% in, and they barely talk until the end. Déjà vu much? It felt super repetitive and honestly, only one of the books needed that plotline—not both the second and the third.
When I hit the epilogue, it was clear there are more books coming. I was ready for a wrap-up, not more of the same stuff. The series kinda lost its spark for me, but I’m still curious enough to see how it ends.
All in all, this book was a letdown. The repetitive plot and the main character’s endless self-loathing made it a slog to get through. Fingers crossed the next book brings back the excitement that made the first two books so fun.
