While The Loop uses “Stranger Things meets World War Z” and “Stranger Things meets Rogue One” to appeal to a casual audience, both comparisons wildly undersell the horrifying thrill-ride you’ll take through Turner Falls.

This was a fun ride.
On an episode of Books in the Freezer, Stephen Graham Jones described YA horror as adult novels with all the boring stuff removed. Until I heard that, I didn't even give YA novels a chance. I've been reading for 50 years! I've read all of Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, and David Foster Wallace! I couldn't enjoy a "Young" Adult novel any more than I would enjoy the next Disney movie (and I don't even watch movies, or TV).
But then I heard Jones's comment and thought I would give it a try.
And I DID enjoy this one!
On a side note, I've ordered Clown in a Cornfield and am really looking forward to it. :)

I read this because of a blurb from Jason Pargin.

Please note this is the first bad advice Jason Pargin has given me.

Another whoa book but I liked it. The characters were funny and carried the book along. Some gore so proceed with caution!

As a concept it sounds great, gets very Cronenbergian, which I like. If only I cared the tiniest bit about the characters... just wasn't it for me. Thankfully it was a quick read.

Very quick paced post apocalyptic story following 2 people that are racially stereotyped in their small town. Some strange things have been happening to the teenagers in their city that is mainly funded my a secret experimental medical company.

It kind of felt rushed at the end but I overall liked it.

This was a very interesting book about a small whose teenagers become very violent and a few teenagers who have to survive. There is two different points of view and most of the book a radio DJ and a teenage girl.I found the radio DJ a little bit flat but I very much enjoy the teenage girl's point of view and her struggling with PTSD.as someone who struggles with PTSD myself I I can completely understand the flashbacks and the fight or flight instinct.
