while the writing was often gorgina the first ~200 pages of the book were really slow and i found it hard to get into. once it picked up, i enjoyed seeing the world through the eyes of little francie and it reminded me a lot of Angela’s Ashes

First time I've read this and what fucking bittersweet gut punch. A perfect story about childhood and wanting time to hurry up and slow down at the same time. I want to hug this book. 😭
