Ich hatte ehrlich gesagt nicht viel erwartet. Ich habe den Manga sehr günstig auf Rebuy bekommen und da ich so viele davon schwärmen gehört habe, ihm mal eine Chance gegeben.
Ich war dann so überrascht, wie gut er mich unterhalten hat. So 100 % bin ich noch nicht sicher worauf das alles hinausläuft aber die Story war interessant und vor allem liegt mir der Humor. Vor allem der Humor, der durch die Zeichnungen ermittelt wird. Die Angestellten von Ciel sind einfach so merkwürdig, skurril, lustig und abgedreht und der Butler ist ein Genie.
Durch den vorletzten Dialog zwischen Ciel und seinem Butler war ich etwas irritiert, aber das macht mich nur noch gespannter auf den nächsten Teil.

Stone gardens, Japanese food and cutlery wielded as weaponry come to the rescue of a spoiled brat and his (mostly) inept staff. Highly anachronistic (but who cares, this is fantasy) and wicked fun anyway. Love love LOVE the art. Oh, and it's manga, which I believe is the Japanese word for "crack".

*update* speaking of crack, I'm now up to book #10 of this series. I just can't seem to bring myself to add every single volume. Maybe I'll add them later when I'm feeling less self-conscious ;)

Although the drawings are amazingly detailed and artistic, the plot lacks. A lot. The characters are irritable, the plot is introduced and ended fast with almighty butler doing few fight moves, the London-based location does not bring anything English about that plot…

I’ve always been interested in watching the anime, but for some reason felt like I couldn’t until I’d started the manga. I feel like it’s more fun to discover the story through the manga, and watch an adaptation afterwards, than it is the other way around. I bought the first volume secondhand, in case I didn’t like it, and gave it a try at the end of 2018.

I ended up really loving it! I knew immediately it was a series I wanted to continue. I’ve been lucky enough to stay away from spoilers, even though the manga and anime are quite a few years old now, so everything was a discovery for me. I loved the characters, I laughed out loud multiple times, and was so invested in the story.

I can’t wait to continue the manga, and watch the anime one day!

I really loved this first volume, it introduced the characters in a compelling way and I loved their interactions. The art is amazing and I love Sebastian :)
