This series is a wild ride. Once you make it to the end and have survived all the the cliffhangers and plot twists you realize ot was all worth it! I don't want to give anything about this series away so I'll simply say. Read this as soon as you can.
This is an 18+ book for mature audiences. This includes MM, MFM situations so please know that going in if that is not your cup of tea. Given is the half-vampire princess who is believed to save the human realm and the vampire realm, but how? She goes through so much and is one of my favorite female characters by far! The story is very immersive with spice, fantasy, and politics. The way writing is fast and intense but never skimps on the details and I really love Amy's writing style, a great mix of contemporary with old lore, world building and not repetitive in how people, places, and things are described. As someone who read all three books individually am happy with the way this is presented as the singular story. This is the book/series that brought me to Amy's writing and I have not been disappointed and I look forward to reading more of her work.
I received an advanced copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

At the start it had a lot of promise, but in the middle toward the end, it was a struggle to finish it. The spice, at times, felt more like padding/filler; used to make the book longer rather than providing actual content.
Read book 1 of 3. It’s alright. I found the sex to plot/character development ratio off. And while I’m curious about the overarching plot and politics of the world building, it’s not in-depth or well-paced enough for me to continue on. I don’t know. I want to a paragraph explanation of what happens instead of reading the remaining 600ish pages.
