This was a great Marple book. The premise of the murder being announced before it takes place is such a genius idea. I had a few guesses which I was correct about but i didn't get the full picture as usual until the reveal. This was a great read, one of my favourites.

Christie has yet to beat And Then There Were None. I found this particular Miss Marple installment to be somewhat dull and it dragged on far too long. The explanation at the end was exhausting. The xenophobia was cringe-worthy and the word p***y made many, many more appearances than expected. I liked some of the characters, but the investigation moved so slowly it was like they wanted additional people to die.

On a side note, this edition of the book was riddled with errors - typos, incorrect punctuation, the entirely wrong word being used. Embarrassing.

Agatha Christie gleefully handed me all the materials to build my own little theory and feel quite clever about it, while she quietly built the real solution over in the corner, on the sly.
This one is a surprising one! And sad.

My first Miss Marple book. As always I couldn't guess the killer.

I love a good old fashioned case of mistaken identity. Identity is important and indeed rules most of the book after the of entry at the beginning. I also thought the killer’s personality and justification interesting and more believable than other mystery novels. Miss Marple does it again!
