This is the third (I think?) Miss Marple book I’ve read and I think I might have to accept that I’m more of a Poirot kind of person. I found this very slow and it unfortunately just didn’t hold my interest at all.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book. The only other book that I’ve read by Agatha Christie is And Then There Were None which happens to be my favorite book. This is the first actual detective book that I’ve read and it has left a pretty good impression. And Then There Were None is my favorite book and I was sort of expecting the same from A Murder Is Announced. Suffice to say, I was wrong. It’s more of a detective book which threw me for a loop. I still really did enjoyed it, though. At times there were so many characters to remember and exactly what was happening, but once you catch up it’s easier to follow. In my opinion, it really is a good crime/mystery novel.

We read this for book club, and I listened to the first 60% of this book via audiobook, which I highly recommend. This is the first Agatha Christie mystery I’ve read. Was instantly transported to England, and was entertained. The amount of post-WWII xenophobia was kinda wild, though.
