This book is the definition of a perfect horror book. The plot coudve been predicted but it turned out to be even worse! The writer described the characters pain perfectly and described details in a perfect way. Definitly a 5 star read.

This novella is a retelling of Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher and follows the same broad strokes of that story's plot. This is a horror story and does have some creepy parts, but there's an overall cheerful tone to most of it that makes it a quick easy read.

This was the perfect horror book for me, not relying too much on triggering topics that are so pervasive in modern horror. I thought the set up of how pronouns were used was inventive and felt natural in the world of story. As a Beatrix Potter fan, I appreciated the nod to her mycological illustrations!
